Steinway & Sons Model B Grand Piano #237578 – Satin Ebony – Undergoing Restoration

Steinway & Sons Model B Grand Pianos continue to be some of the most popular grand pianos ever produced. Measuring just under seven feet in length, these pianos are at home in both personal and top performance use. These instruments exhibit the very best of quality craftsmanship and piano design. Some have dubbed them the world’s ‘perfect piano.’

Manufactured in 1925, Steinway Model B #237578 is in excellent condition and is currently undergoing a full restoration. Benefiting from good maintenance by qualified piano technicians and restoration work over the years, this instrument is in ready to play condition. This piano was factory repaired by Steinway in 1963. Restoration work from them included a new soundboard, new backaction and a new keyboard. The piano’s factory installed soundboard is in pristine shape with no visible cracks or rib separations.

The action will be fully rebuilt with new German Renner wippens, premium natural felt hammers and new New keytops and damper felts were also installed around this time. Our piano technicians have conducted action and tone regulation to ensure the expected Steinway level of touch and sound. The action responds well to a light touch and the piano produces a clear overall tone with a deep, warmer bass section. The cabinet is in good overall shape with some normal marks and wear and will be stunning once refinished. The piano’s original nickel hardware is in good condition and will be expertly replated.

This piano has been well maintained by a top-qualified piano technician in Michigan. Due to the work that the piano has received over the years as well as the continued maintenance, this piano is is in great condition.
