The Steinway Model A, Style III Grand Piano measures 6’4 1/2″ in length, substantially longer than the currently produced Model A-2. Out of all of the pianos built by Steinway, the A-3 is our favorite scale design. When properly rebuilt and regulated, these pianos are on par with even the best Steinway Model B Grands. This golden era grand piano has been fully rebuilt and is now offered for your careful consideration.
The piano’s action has been fully rebuilt with new parts. German Renner wippens combined with new premium quality hammers, shanks and flanges offers the highest in stability and performance. A new custom crafted keyset has been installed for optimal responsiveness and power. The action has been fully regulated, voiced and weighed off by our expert piano technicians. This process has created a piano that boasts a rich, deep bass section and an overall quality of tone that sings with power and musicality! The touch is effortless and controllable – placing this parlor instrument par with the very best concert grands.
New premium music wire and custom copper wound bass strings are coiled to blued Klinke tuning pins. A new hard rock maple pinblock provides optimum tuning stability and a new solid spruce soundboard has been fitted in order to produce the finest quality of tone.
The cast iron plate has been expertly re-bronzed and the raised lettering hand detailed. The cabinet has been refinished in a luxurious high gloss ebony polyester finish will be applied – a rarity due to its high expense and labor intensiveness. The original nickel hardware has been re-plated and a new fallboard logo decal affixed to the fallboard. This piano is a stunning instrument both musically and cosmetically!
