The Steinway Model D Grand Piano is truly a standard-setting instrument. The king of concert instruments that all others are judged against, Model D-274 grands are the epitome of Steinway piano development. This vintage grand piano was built in 1932 during Steinway’s ‘golden era’ of factory quality. The pre-WWII era of piano manufacturing produced some of the greatest pianos ever to be crafted. Measuring nine feet in length, the Model D allows for a truly incredible sound that only comes from a piano bearing the name of ‘Steinway.’ Model D #275187 has undergone a full rebuilding process to return it to its full, concert level potential. This exceedingly beautiful concert instrument is a wonderful living piece of music history.
The cabinet has been refinished in a beautiful closed pore, hand rubbed satin ebony lacquer. This piano features exceedingly rare, one-piece genuine ivory keytops. The action has been fully rebuilt utilizing the finest parts including new German Renner wippens and new Genuine New York Steinway hammers. A new solid spruce soundboard has been installed as well as a new custom fitted hard rock maple pinblock.
Our piano technicians have completed expert action regulation to provide a silky smooth and incredibly responsive playing experience. Tone regulation has been performed to ensure that the very best is brought out from this instrument. The bass is very commanding and powerful and the treble is equally clear and free.
