Steinway & Sons Model B Grand Piano #237578 – Satin Ebony – Rebuilt
Steinway & Sons Model B Grand Pianos continue to rank among the most popular grand pianos ever produced. Measuring just under seven feet in length, these pianos are at home in both personal and top performance use. These instruments exhibit the very best of quality craftsmanship and piano design. This has led to some dubbing them to be the world’s ‘perfect piano.’ Manufactured in 1925 at the New York Steinway Factory, Steinway Model B #237578 is in excellent condition and underwent a full Chupp’s Piano Service restoration. Benefiting from good maintenance by qualified piano technicians and restoration work over the years, this instrument was selected by us specifically for rebuilding. This piano was factory repaired by Steinway in 1963. Restoration work from them included a new soundboard, new back action, and a new keyboard. The piano’s factory installed soundboard is in pristine shape with no visible cracks or rib separations.
“A year and a half ago our church was able to purchase a rebuilt Steinway from Chupp’s Piano. Dennis worked with me until we found a piano that met our needs financially and musically. He voiced the instrument to fit my tastes, and I still love playing it as much today as when we purchased it!” – Dr. Judie Meulink
The action has been carefully rebuilt with new dimensionally correct wippens, and premium level hammers, shanks, and flanges. A new custom manufactured back action has been installed. New high-quality acrylic keytops have been fitted to the original wooden keysticks. Our piano technicians have completed the needed action and tone regulation to ensure the expected Steinway level of touch and sound. The action responds accurately and confidently to a light touch and the piano produces a clear overall tone with a deep, warm bass section. The piano’s cabinet has been expertly refinished in a high grade, closed pore nitrocellulose lacquer by top piano refinishing craftsmen. It was then hand rubbed to a luxurious satin sheen. The piano’s original nickel hardware is in good condition and has been expertly replated.
This piano was well maintained by a top-qualified piano technician in Michigan. Due to the work that the piano has received over the years as well as the continued maintenance, this piano was already in great condition.
It was very obvious that once a full restoration was completed, this piano would be of a top concert level. This turned out to be the case! Below is a list of work completed on this piano.View Our InventoryContact Us
