1989 Hamburg Steinway & Sons Model B Grand Piano #512401 – Ebony
With a length of approx. 6’11” in length, the Steinway & Sons Model B has grown to become one of the world’s most famous musical instruments. Dubbed by some to be the ‘perfect piano’, these seven-foot instruments are often chosen by professional and amateur musicians as their personal practice instruments. It is not uncommon to see these pianos gracing concert stages as well! The length of these ‘parlor’ grand pianos offers them a wonderful balance between manageable size and concert-quality performance. These instruments were first introduced in 1878 and production has been consistent since that date at both the New York and Hamburg factories.
Steinway Model B #512401 was built in 1989 at the Steinway Factory in Hamburg, Germany. In pristine condition, this exceedingly rare and coveted instrument has been expertly returned to full performance-ready status by expert piano technicians. The piano’s cabinet features a gorgeous polished ebony finish. The cabinet features European round arms and sits on tapered, spade legs. The instrument’s solid satin brass hardware contrasts beautifully against the polished cabinet. The interior of the piano showcases the original solid spruce factory soundboard. The piano also features brand new strings and a custom-fitted hard maple pinblock providing the ultimate stability. The action features the factory original wippens and new Steinway Hamburg hammers by Renner. Steinway B #512401 has been expertly regulated and voiced to provide a responsive touch and a wonderful, Hamburg Steinway depth of tone.
The Steinway Model B exists as many’s dream piano – with it being produced in Hamburg as the icing on the cake.
