1926 Mason & Hamlin Model AA Grand Piano #34630 | Satin Ebony – Restored
Founded in 1854, the Mason & Hamlin Piano Company is one of only a few American piano manufacturers still in operation today. Based in Haverhill, Massachusetts the company continues to be a leader in exceptional quality and innovation. The historic Model AA measures 6’2” in length. (Comparable in length to the Steinway & Sons Model A Grand Pianos.) Mason & Hamlin instruments are legendary for their incredibly solid build and powerful tone. The uncommonly thick hard rock maple rim design is combined with the unique Mason & Hamlin Tension Resonator which ensures permanence – proven to stand the tests of time and use. All combined, this Crown Retention System helps to lend stability and longevity to the piano’s structure and supports the production of a strong, pure tone.
Fully Restored to Concert Level Standards
This ‘golden age’ instrument features a round arm case with octagonal legs resting in brass ferrules. The satin ebony cabinet has been expertly refinished in a closed pore, hand rubbed lacquer. The cast iron plate has been re-bronzed and hand-lettered and the natural damper blocks have been refinished. The action has been fully rebuilt utilizing new German Renner wippens, and the finest quality new hammers, shanks, and flanges. Our piano technicians have spent many hours regulating and adjusting the action to ensure a responsive touch. Expert tone regulation/voicing has been performed to ensure a full, pleasing quality of tone. The keyboard has been weighed off to proper specifications to create the perfect down and up weight. We spend hours beyond the industry norm, ensuring that the touch and tone of the piano meet the high standards expected of vintage Mason & Hamlin instruments.
