Steinway & Sons Model A3 Parlor Grand Piano | Fully Rebuilt – Satin Ebony Finish

Steinway & Sons Model A3 #224288 was manufactured at the New York Steinway Factory in 1923. This ‘golden age’ Steinway grand piano has been fully restored and rebuilt by our expert piano technicians. The Steinway Model A was first introduced in 1878 and this Model A-3 is considered to the pinnacle of this piano’s design. These parlor grand pianos produce a sound full of power and they have a wonderful, wide tonal range. The large ‘Stretch A’ Model A-III grand is no longer in production by Steinway. [Reliable rumors indicate that it was discontinued due to it competing with the more expensive Model B.]

 

The Model A-III was first produced in 1913 and this piano measures 6’4 1/2″ in length, larger than Model A Grand Pianos currently produced today. Model A-III #224288 features a beautiful, closed pore, hand rubbed satin ebony finish. The piano’s action has been fully rebuilt utilizing the highest quality parts. Our expert piano technicians have completed extensive action regulation and concert level tone regulation. This process is essential to bringing out the iconic, Steinway tone and touch that has made these vintage pianos so beloved. The Steinway Model A-III is very comparable to the larger Model B in its power and tonal qualities. It has become the preferred scale design of many piano technicians and pianists. Produced for a short period of time, the Model A-III is a rare and sought after instrument.

The original nickel hardware has been re-plated and new premium key tops have been installed. The cast iron plate has been re-bronzed to a brilliant, golden sheen and the raised lettering has been carefully hand detailed. This piano is a wonderful example of premium Steinway quality, both as an instrument and as a piece of visual art. You will not find another Steinway Model A-III that sounds as good as this one does at this very reasonable price!
